Faith NC
Faith
NC is one of the penultimate small towns of the South.
With its population hovering around 590, this is
definitely a place where you’ll know your neighbor. But
don’t think this small town has less to offer. In fact,
George Bush Sr. even visited Faith’s annual Fourth of
July Celebration in 1992. This is a little town with a
big reputation.
The Fourth of July Celebration is more than a one-night
fiesta, it’s a week-long celebration with everything
from nightly live bands to a local “Faith Idol”
competition searching for residential talent. What
Fourth of July Celebration would be complete without not
one, but two nights of fireworks for the area, and a
parade? Each year is slightly different, but never a
celebration to be underestimated.
This friendly town is certainly living up to its name.
The legend behind the name, according to Faith’s town
website, is that “an early settler named John Thomas
Wyatt started a quarry in the area and announced that he
was proceeding ‘in faith’. Faith was incorporated in
1903.” From there, the population has remained small as
those in the town cherish their heritage and community.
Though Faith itself is small, it is located within 5
miles from the bustling city of Salisbury, so all local
amenities are within easy reach. The University of North
Carolina at Charlotte is only 27 miles away, and makes
for an easy commute for those wishing to further their
education without dealing with the chaos of a big city.
For those interested in a smaller college experience,
the Rowan-Cabarrus Community College is only 7 miles
from Faith, NC. Faith welcomes visitors and new
residents to join this friendly community.
